‘Good luck’ – Man Utd fans react as Mourinho’s summer transfer plans become clearer

The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are expecting to see a bit of a revolution at Old Trafford this summer. The last few years have been about slowly evolving the club and bringing it into a new era, but now that process is over.

Mourinho will be expected to make waves at Old Trafford next season, and a few trophies will undoubtedly be wanted by the Man Utd brass.

However, what is also clear is that his squad consists of a mixed bag of players, with some simply not good enough to remain at the club long-term.

That’s likely to change this summer, and that’s something that a recent report from The Times has seemingly confirmed. They’re reporting that the duo of Daley Blind and Matteo Darmian are free to leave the club this summer, which likely makes Mourinho’s summer plans more clear.

Their departures will, of course, free up squad places for other players, whilst any transfer fees will directly allow the club to reinvest. Not to mention, each player will need to be directly replaced, and so a defensive rebuild appears to be on the cards.
