The Man City fans in the Transfer Tavern are eager for a few of their young players to get a chance this season. Things are going very well in the Premier League at the Etihad, with the Sky Blues currently leading the charge at the top of the table, but their success with youth development isn’t following suit at present.

For all of his qualities, Pep Guardiola often struggles to place much focus on developing homegrown talent, and that has proven more difficult at Man City than at any other club. With seemingly limitless spending power, and increasingly short managerial tenures, bosses at Man City are tasked with short-term success rather than long-term success, and that unfortunately negatively impacts upon the young players.

That said, Guardiola has, on occasion, given chances in less important games, and with the return of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday, Man City’s game against Wolves is a good opportunity to do just that. A few of Man City’s senior players need a rest, whilst their youngster stars are desperate for a chance.

With that said, Guardiola should give these 2 Man City young players a chance against Wolves tonight – agreed?

 Tosin Adarabioyo

Tosin Adarabioyo is seen by many as the jewel in the crown of the Man City academy.

A powerful defender, the 20-year-old has the perfect frame for the Premier League, and he has looked good whenever he has been given a chance over the last few years.

Unfortunately for him, Man City have looked very good defensively this term, and so he hasn’t really had an opportunity. That could change tonight, though, with Wolves unlikely to threaten.

Oleksandr Zinchenko

Oleksandr Zinchenko is one of the most talented players in the Man City academy, that is without a doubt.

He’s a fantastic dribbler with a real eye for a pass, whilst his ball retention is also very strong. He’d fit in well amongst some of Man City’s more experienced attackers.

At 20-years-old, he’s at a crucial time in his development, and a good performance could skyrocket him up the rankings at the Etihad.

Unfortunately for him, much like Adarabioyo, the sheer quality ahead of him in the first team has forced him to the sidelines. But in time, he’ll surely rise like a phoenix.
