Celtic’s charge towards towards the Scottish Premier League title continued with a 2-0 win over Motherwell last weekend and Brendan Rodgers’ side look a dead cert to pick up the crown come May.

They’re now a staggering 24 points clear at the top of of the table with Aberdeen now their main rivals in behind and their fans here in the Tavern are predicting a big finish to the season which could result in them laying down quite the marker.

The Bhoys are on for winning the title by the clearest margin in club football in the whole of Europe and you won’t find many betting against them going forward.

But they’re going to want to carry on their 14-game winning streak and next up is Hamilton in the league.

We think a change should be made for the match to ensure things stay fresh so with that in mind, here’s our Celtic XI that Rodgers should pick to beat Hamilton this weekend…

GK: Craig Gordon

Craig Gordon has been superb for the Bhoys all season and is having arguably his strongest season in club football.

There’s little doubt here by the bar that there will be interest in his signature this summer but his strong performances should mean Celtic want to keep him.

RB: Mikael Lustig

Swedish veteran Mikael Lustig has been in good form having broken back into the Celtic first-team over the past couple of months and he’s a player that should be set to start this one too.

CB: Dedryk Boyata

Former Manchester City defender Dedryk Boyata is another player who has been in good form over the past few weeks and he’s finally beginning to show the form that suggested why he could’ve been a first-team player for the Citizens.

He’s a towering figure at the heart of the Celtic defence and Hamilton might not fancy their chances at getting past a player whose been in such good form.

CB: Jozo Simunovic

Jozo Simunovic has adapted very well to life at Celtic and his form continues to pick up as his team’s form continues to grow and grow.

Keeping Sviatchenko out of the side shows how well he is doing and he’s certainly a player that deserves to keep his place in the side for the clash against Hamilton.

LB: Kieran Tierney

Young full-back Kieran Tierney continues to impress having broken into the first-team this season and his development is showing no signs of slowing up as the season continues.

The youngster is slowly beginning to create a big reputation for himself and Celtic might have to brace themselves for a wealth of offers this summer, which the punters in here hope will be batted away.

CDM: Nir Bitton

Nir Bitton was in and out of the side during the Christmas period but he’s since held down a first-team spot over the past couple of months and looks as solid as they come in front of the defence.

CDM: Scott Brown

Celtic captain Scott Brown continues to prove why he’s a key player in this side and his importance remains as high as ever.

Celtic fans here in the Tavern love their captain and the work he puts in and there’s no doubting he’ll be involved regularly now until the end of the season.

RAM: James Forrest

James Forrest was on the score-sheet again for the Bhoys in the win over Motherwell last weekend and he continues to show why he gets in the first-team week-in, week-out.

He’s a pacy winger who offers a real amount of directness on the flank and Hamilton won’t be looking forward to an afternoon up against him this weekend.

CAM: Gary Mackay-Steven

Former Dundee man Gary Mackay-Steven has really had to bide his time for first-team opportunities at Celtic this season but with the Bhoys streaks ahead in the league, bringing him back into the first-team might not be a bad shout in the slightest.

He’s a seriously skillful player who offers something different going forward and he deserves a shot in the first-team once again.

LAM: Scott Sinclair

Former Aston Villa winger Scott Sinclair has been in fine form for the Bhoys this season and he’s showing why Brendan Rodgers brought him to the club in the first place.

His pace has been causing problems all season and if he continues in this stead, his importance in the side is only going to increase as the season progresses.
