‘Horrible’ – West Ham fans on Twitter can’t believe extent of shattering blow

Share

Fans of all Premier League clubs have been coming together in the Tavern today to wish a quick recovery for West Ham’s Manuel Lanzini. The Argentinian playmaker was set to play in his first World Cup for his country before suffering what a number of senior West Ham staff members have described as ‘one of the worst injuries they’ve seen in football’ according to reliable Twitter account, ExWHUemployee’s column.

Football is a contact sport and unfortunately, the negative side of the game is that payers to get hurt and suffer terrible injuries. However, the timing of this one is worse than the injury itself in this case, with the 25-year-old star, Lanzini now set to miss over a year’s worth of football including his World Cup debut with Argentina. The next chance Lanzini will have at a World Cup will be at the age of 29 and it’s unclear if he’s lost his chance.

Whilst the player has the awful challenge of trying to get his head back in the right place and start the long rehabilitation process that comes with such an awful injury, fans all over have been piling in with their support for the tricky number ten. Fans have been sending messages via social media in a show of solidarity for the Premier League man who chipped in with five goals and seven assists for the Hammers last season.
