Hull City could hardly have asked for a better introduction to Premier League football, stunning Manchester United with a 2-0 victory at the MKM Stadium on the opening weekend.
The Tigers know there is a long way to go if they are to preserve their top-flight status, though, and further additions remain on the agenda.
They now appear to be closing in on another promising attacking arrival.
Hull City Close to Signing Robinio Vaz
Hull City are nearing an agreement with Roma for teenage striker Robinio Vaz, according to The Athletic, with the forward set to arrive on an initial loan deal.
The proposed move would see Hull pay €2 million for the season-long loan, while also securing an option to make Vaz’s stay permanent for a reported €30 million.
The 19-year-old only joined Roma from Marseille in January after scoring four goals in 14 Ligue 1 appearances during the first half of last season.
Vaz subsequently made 12 Serie A appearances for Roma, all from the bench, and found the net once. Before his move to Marseille in 2024, he developed at Sochaux and has represented France through Under-20 level.
Hull are now working to complete the final details with both Roma and the player, with the deal appearing increasingly close.
