Newcastle United started the season in relatively impressively considering they were only promoted to the Premier League this season, but their form in recent weeks has seen them drop closer to the relegation zone. Following a run of five league matches without a win, the Magpies now sit just five points above 18th placed West Ham ahead of a difficult set of fixtures in December.
Next up for the North East giants is a trip to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea on Saturday afternoon, where Rafa Benitez’s men will be hoping his side can rectify their poor away form after claiming just five points from their opening seven fixtures on the road.
The Magpies’ best performances so far this season have come at St James’ Park, and the stadium appears to be earning recognition from fans outside of the North East.
Newcastle’s official Twitter page revealed that St James’ Park had been voted as the second-favourite football ground in English football, coming second to Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium.
