West Ham fans in the Transfer Tavern are crying out for major improvements to their squad this summer and they’ve been left debating reports of one particular potential recruit.
The Hammers are desperately in need of attacking recruits this summer as they lack a genuine top-class striker and one man linked with a move to the London Stadium is Liverpool ace Daniel Sturridge.
England international Sturridge has faced difficult times since Jurgen Klopp replaced Brendan Rodgers at Anfield, as the former Chelsea and Manchester City man has consistently struggled with injury problems and now seems to be on the way out.
Whilst some West Ham fans will be concerned with his track record on injuries, the stats show that Sturridge is a deadly striker when fit and The Daily Express quotes Slaven Bilic as dropping a major hint he’ll move for the forward.
“We are going to see. We have our list of strikers. If you go back two or three seasons he was unbelievable. You can still see it when he plays.”
“He plays very rarely but I watched Stoke against Liverpool the other day. He came on and, with a couple of passes, he broke their defence. He split them up with that great pass.”
Our landlord feels a move for Sturridge to West Ham would be beneficial for all parties, as he believes the striker can become an instant hit in East London – if he remains fit.
