Aston Villa fans here in the Tavern are hoping that their side can secure Premier League football for next season, as they’ve now confirmed themselves a place in the play-offs.
Sadly, the Villains lost their way after beating league leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers back in March, as their automatic promotion hopes were shattered after struggling to grind out any positive performances. But, Steve Bruce now looks to have rallied his troops for a successful finish to the campaign, as they’ve now secured a play-off spot with a chance to reach the top-flight.
Although, many of our local residents are concerned about how inconsistent Villa have been under Bruce this season, with a managerial change wanted by some of our punters at the end of the current campaign. So, the Villains will need to eye up a couple of suitable replacements if they decide to make a change, as they could be gearing up for Premier League football.
So without further ado, Aston Villa must consider replacing Steve Bruce with one of these TWO managers in the summer…
Chris Wilder
Chris Wilder has established himself as one of the most promising managers in the whole of English football, as he’s worked wonders at Sheffield United this season with the play-offs still in sight.
Indeed, the former Northampton Town manager enjoyed promotion to League One at Sixfields, and could definitely take a Championship side to the Premier League after giving Wolves a run for their money at the top of the table towards the start of the current campaign.
Therefore, Aston Villa should look to bring Wilder to Villa Park in the summer months as Steve Bruce’s replacement, as he’s shown he can ensure progression and secure promotion in recent years.
Mick McCarthy
Interestingly, Mick McCarthy is searching for a new managerial job after leaving his role at Ipswich Town, with many of our local residents wanting to see him take charge at Villa Park in the summer months.
Of course, a move to the Midlands would be rather familiar for the 59-year-old after enjoying a successful time of things at Wolverhampton Wanderers, as one of the most experienced and accomplished managers in English football.
Nevertheless, Villa should look to hire McCarthy in the summer months after struggling for consistency this season, as he can ensure progression at any level and has an incredible managerial skill set.
