The Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to their club’s Twitter post, where they tweeted a picture of their new gaffer with the caption #LetsGo. The Scouser was revealed as the club’s new manager earlier this month, although he starts in his new role today and will be looking forward to getting his hands dirty at Ibrox in the next few months.

Rangers will have their work cut out for them next season. Steven Gerrard has been tasked with narrowing the gulf in class between the Gers and their Old Firm Rivals Celtic, although considering the Hoops have completed Scottish football’s first-ever double-treble over the last two seasons, it looks like a mammoth task for the former Liverpool and England captain.
If Gerrard is to succeed, he’ll need an injection of cash and an entertaining style of play. The club have already signed two players under Stevie G, with both Scott Arfield and Allan McGregor making the journey north from Burnley and Hull City respectively to join the Ibrox club. The first competitive games of Gerrard’s tenure will be Europa League qualifiers, and they’ll provide a good test to see whether the Scouse legend can hack it in Glasgow.
