The Italian has got the Blues playing perfectly, and a formation switch has revolutionised the way that they play.

In truth, nearly every player in the Chelsea first team has been perfect in recent weeks – but as with any side, there are a few weak links.

There are a couple of players that, in truth, Conte should really be looking to replace – and with the January transfer window quickly approaching, it might be time for Conte to drop these 2 players…

Gary Cahill

Gary Cahill is Chelsea’s captain in the absence of John Terry – but he hasn’t really taken the mantle from the legendary Chelsea defender up all too well.

An own-goal against Man City threatened to undo the Blues, and whilst Antonio Conte’s men did recover – it proved that Cahill might not be the man for the job.

He has done fairly well this campaign, but Chelsea cannot afford any mistakes this season – and Cahill has been shaky thus far.

Kurt Zouma is quickly returning from injury, and a return to the first team in place of Cahill makes a lot of sense.

Nemanja Matic

Nemanja Matic, like Cahill, has been decent this season – but he stands out in this first team because everybody else is playing so well.

He is getting overshadowed by N’Golo Kante, and the arrival of the French midfielder has shown just how superior Chelsea’s latest midfield signing really is.

Meanwhile, Cesc Fabregas has come in in recent weeks and performed fantastically – and really deserves an extended run of games in the first team.

Matic for Fabregas is a logical change.
