With Guardiola’s men slipping behind in the Premier League title race, the Man City fans in the Transfer Tavern are calling for a very busy January transfer window…
Pep Guardiola has led his side well, and at the beginning of the season they looked unstoppable. They were winning every week, and players like Aguero and Stones were firing on all cylinders.
However, 15 games in – and things are looking very different for the Manchester giants. They currently sit 4th in the Premier League, and with 7 points between them and top spot – it is clear that Guardiola has a lot of work to do.
January represents an opportune time to do that, with the transfer market reopening, and Guardiola would be wise to invest heavily come the new year.
With a number of leagues to look at, our landlord thinks that the Bundesliga represents the best option for the Spanish boss – with a wealth of young, talented players potentially available.
With that said, it’s time for Guardiola to buy these 3 Bundesliga stars in January…
Niklas Sule

John Stones has, simply put, not been good enough this season.
The English defender has had moments of genius this season, but he has been far too inconsistent – and at a top club like Man City, you cannot afford to be inconsistent.
Niklas Sule would offer Guardiola an alternative. An option should he need resilience and stability in the heart of his defence, and at just 21-years-old – he would, like Stones, be a long-term solution.
Julian Draxler

Julian Draxler looks likely to be the most in-demand player in Europe in January, with the German winger’s Wolfsburg tenure looking over after being left out of the squad to face Bayern Munich last weekend.
Man City need a bit more offensive depth, with the likes of Nolito and Navas proving inconsistent, and Draxler would provide a long-term alternative to that disappointing duo.
He will be difficult to get, but Guardiola only targets the best in the world – and Draxler is definitely in that mould.
Anthony Modeste

What a turnaround in form it has been for Anthony Modeste.
You may remember his name from a loan spell with Blackburn Rovers, but since moving to Koln in the Bundesliga – he has been on fire.
He has scored 12 league goals in just 14 appearances in the German top flight this season, and as a result, he is competing amongst the likes of Lewandowski and Aubameyang for Bundesliga top scorer award.
A record like that would allow him to provide significant competition with Aguero up front, and give Guardiola an alternative should he need it.
