The need for another defender is a desperate one and Crystal Palace outcast Jairo Riedewald could be a great signing for Aston Villa.
Dutch-capped Riedewald, (who is valued at £4.5 million on Transfermarkt) has really lost his way at Crystal Palace after he’s had to settle for just three EFL cup appearances this season.
With no chances coming in the Premier League, Riedewald could feel as if it’s the right time to move away from Selhurst Park.
Considering he made just 15 appearances in total last season when arriving dubbed as a brilliant signing from Ajax, the 22-year-old has just not settled.
Aston Villa though could turn out to be a positive move for Jairo Riedewald, especially if he gets the opportunity to play regularly and impress the boss Dean Smith.
With the ability to play left-back as well as his main positions in centre-back and centre-midfield, Riedewald would really be a helpful addition at Villa Park, considering their measly squad depth in some areas of the pitch.
Riedewald is definitely still a talented player, he just needs the right platform to go out and prove it. Aston Villa are a massive club that will hope to gain promotion this season, which Jairo Riedewald could play a huge part in if he joined Villa Park.
