Share

Considering just how dreadful the senior national team is, the punters in the Transfer Tavern have been caught out by falling into a typically English way of thinking.

In stark contrast to the continued struggles of the senior team, Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford notched a fantastic hat-trick on his England U21 debut last night.

Having also bagged during his first games for the senior team, as well as both his European and Premier League for United, the 18-year-old sure knows how to make an entrance.

Still, it is important to remember the fact the Rashford is still only a teenager.

So often in the Tavern, have we seen a burgeoning home-grown talent far too overhyped, only to fall into relative obscurity.

Sure, he does make it hard not to heap praise on him. However, the forward has plenty of work to do to oust Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Harry Kane for both the Red Devils and the Three Lions.

With all this in mind, here’s a look at the SEVEN best overreactions to Rashford’s rout last night.
