The Premier League may be back upon us here in the Transfer Tavern but there’s still going to be plenty of focus on the goings-on in the Championship this year.
Indeed, with clubs like Aston Villa still in the second tier, the division is set to be yet again one of the most competitive around and our local Villans punters are eager to see their side emerge in May as one of promoted clubs.
For sure, then, it’s going to be a tough old slog between now and then but, as the old saying goes, you can only take things one game at a time and next up it’s Cardiff in the Championship.
Last night, though, the attention was on who the club would get in the second round of the Carabao Cup and when it was revealed as Wigan, fans soon took to Twitter.
