The Chelsea supporters here in the Football Transfer Tavern are hoping that last weekend’s 2-0 reverse at the hands of Manchester United was merely a small blemish in their path to Premier League glory.

The Blues are still four points clear of London rivals Spurs and with decent looking fixtures between now and the end of the campaign, their supporters are still extremely optimistic of reclaiming the Barclays Premier League crown.

A couple of ardent Blues supporters are discussing which players could potentially be sold in the summer with Antonio Conte likely to offload some fringe players and bring in some more of his own recruits.

Our landlord has overheard this conversation and after pouring himself a glass of red wine he looked at three Chelsea fringe players who perhaps aren’t good enough for the club anymore. He looked at one who should be kept, one who definitely needs offloading and another who might be better served out on loan.

Axe – Michy Batshuayi

The Belgian forward arrived from Ligue 1 during the summer and he has not enjoyed the best of times during his maiden season in the Barclays Premier League.

One Chelsea supporter is sat in the beer garden here in the Transfer Tavern and he agrees that Batshuayi should be offloading during the summer, stating that he isn’t of the required quality to perform in the Premier League.

Keep – Willian

The Brazilian winger hasn’t featured under the stewardship of Antonio Conte too frequently, although his form during last season suggests that he can still have a part to play in the Blues’ future plans.

A couple of Chelsea fans are chatting about the little Brazilian and they are both of the opinion that Willian should be featuring a little bit more often that he is at present.

Loan – Ruben Loftus-Cheek

The highly-rated midfielder just isn’t getting the right amount of football to aid his progression right now and a move away from Stamford Bridge looks to be wise for the player.

A couple of loyal Chelsea supporters are sharing a packet of pork scratchings at the bar and they are both in agreement that in order for the youngster to develop he simply needs to be playing more football than he is right now.
