Our Aston Villa fans here in the Transfer Tavern are looking forward to their game with Sheffield Wednesday, even if the Owls are gunning for promotion at the moment.
Indeed, the Villans would surely like to be where their opponents are currently but for one reason or another it simply hasn’t worked out that way for them.
Now, though, they need to build momentum for 2017/18 and that could surely start with a good result against the Owls.
For Steve Bruce, though, there is concern with him pinpointing Jordan Rhodes as a real threat to his side’s chances.
Speaking via the club’s official Twitter account at his press conference today, Bruce said:

Rhodes surely is a concern, then, even if he has had a tough time this season.
He didn’t really get a look-in for Middlesbrough this year and so will be keen to show that he’s still got it for Wednesday which, if he does, could spell real problems for Villa.
