The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern will tolerate nothing but a win against Newcastle this weekend…
A disappointing draw in the Champions League has left the fans in the Transfer Tavern feeling rather deflated, making it two draws out of two in the continental competition.
However, they can’t afford to rest upon their laurels, particularly with a tough game against Newcastle United on the horizon. The Magpies have been going well in the Premier League so far, and they’ll provide a stern test for Jurgen Klopp’s team.
They’ll certainly have to improve on their mid-week performance if they want to secure a win, and that could mean that Jurgen Klopp has little choice but to make a few changes to his team.
Nobody was particularly poor mid-week, but nobody stood out either, and so a few minor changes could be exactly what is needed. There is so much talent available in the Liverpool squad, and if a player isn’t up to snuff, another player can come in without concern.
With that said, Klopp should drop these 2 Liverpool players against Newcastle…
Emre Can

Fortunately, Jurgen Klopp is in a position where he has a lot of choice in midfield, and if one player doesn’t perform, he has a number of options on the bench waiting for a chance.
Emre Can, unfortunately for him, was the weak link in the Liverpool midfield against Spartak earlier this week, and that’s something that Jurgen Klopp is likely to act upon.
On his day, he’s a top player, but he was off his game, and another player could come in. Perhaps Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could get a chance, or Gigi Wijnaldum could come back in.
Loris Karius

Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet have gone back and forth between the sticks this season, but Mignolet has been the better option by far.
Karius was okay in the Champions League – he kept a clean sheet after all – but he also did nothing to suggest that he’s a better player than his Belgian counterpart.
Expect Mignolet to come back in the Premier League.
