With the international break now having been and gone, Celtic’s lead at the top of the Scottish Premier League looks as strong as ever, much to the delight of their supporters here in the pub!

In what has been a season of domestic dominance in the league, the Bhoys have cantered to yet another league title, despite bitter rivals Rangers having been reintroduced after their spell in the lower divisions.

But thanks to some cracking football, bags of goals and a sturdy defence, the Bhoys will seal yet another league crown in the coming weeks, something our Bhoys-mad barman predicted would happen right at the start of the season.

And despite dominating for most of the campaign, there is thought amongst some of the supporters here in the pub, that there are a couple of names in the squad that might have deserved more time on the pitch than they’ve actually had.

So with that in mind, here’s TWO Celtic players that deserve another opportunity to shine under Rodgers…

Leigh Griffiths

Much to the horror of the Celtic fans here in the pub, Leigh Griffiths was ruled out for a lot of the season through injury.

Of course, he’s a man that has scored bagfuls of goals for the Bhoys in the past and many were worried how their season might progress without him in the side.

But with Moussa Dembele having been on absolute fire for most of the season, they’ve been just fine but he’s a player that certainly deserves more time on the pitch after what he’s done in the past for his team.

Celtic fans are real supporters of the Scottish international.

Gary Mackay-Steven

Arguably one of the most talented and natural footballers in this side, Gary Mackay-Steven can’t buy time on the pitch for love nor money at the moment, and Bhoys fans feel a little for the former Dundee man.

This man has some real skill in his locker but at the moment is being outshone by the likes of Scott Sinclair and Charlie Armstrong, both of whom are in the form of their careers.

But moving forward, he’s certainly a player that deserves a little more time on the pitch, especially with the league title seemingly in the bag.
