Leeds fans on Twitter fume at Bamford’s injury problems

Patrick Bamford

When Patrick Bamford signed for Leeds United in the summer from Middlesbrough, the fans were all delighted that they’d got someone who was a proven goalscorer at Championship level. However, he’s hardly featured due to injury, and despite expecting him to be back earlier this month, it seems he won’t be ready to face Stoke this weekend.

Bielsa says Bamford will need a bit more time. Not ready to return yet. #lufc

Instead, the Whites will be left relying upon Kemar Roofe, as they have all season, to get them the goals. When Bamford does return he will be a massive boost, and he showed that when he returned briefly for one game against Bolton, where he came off the bench and scored the only goal of the game to give Marcelo Bielsa’s side a big three points in a game that was otherwise heading for a draw.

It looks like the striker isn’t too far away from being fit again now, even if it has taken him a little bit longer than it was meant to. For the most part, the club has gotten on just fine without Bamford, so when they have him back it can only be a boost, and even if the 25-year-old is ineffective he’ll at least provide some cover for the ever-impressive Roofe, who hasn’t stopped scoring.

Is he made from glass? How fragile is he?

FFS”Hope he’ll be ready for early January” was what he said in December

The 'miracle' early return of Bamford was an error and set him back.

Jeez..hate to say it but what a terrible waste of money

Looking forward to his return. It feels like he just needs a good run of games and his career will be back on track. Such a shame about the timings of his injuries.

The Whites aren’t happy to see Bamford missing yet another game, but they’ll be hoping the striker can make his mark when his back to fitness.
