Leeds fans on Twitter livid as Sergi Canos dodges ban

Yesterday, it became apparent that Brentford’s Sergi Canos would be avoiding a retrospective ban after he was cleared of supposedly throwing a headbutt at Ezgjan Alioski during a scuffle in the Brentford dugout during Saturday’s game. The fans are more than a little bit frustrated with the news, which can be found on The Yorkshire Evening Post’s website.

Most Leeds fans aren’t fuming at Canos’ lack of a ban because they cynically want the Brentford man to miss some games. They’re livid because they know that if it was the other way round there would be a definite ban for one of their lads, and the comments from the fans have pulled no punches as The Whites have accused the EFL and the FA of being corrupt and rotten to the core following the unsavoury incident.

Whilst Canos has avoided a ban, the FA have requested Leeds provide observations on missiles and coins that were being thrown at Neil Maupay after the striker scored The Bees’ controversially won penalty during the same game. It will be typical from the Leeds perspective to see the club get levelled with a hefty fine for crowd trouble in the same game where Canos gets off for a clear headbutt, and the fans would love to see how the FA come to these type of decisions.
