Leeds United were left counting themselves unlucky yesterday when their clash against Brentford at Elland Road ended in a 1-1 draw. The fans were frustrated with the performance of the referee and if it wasn’t for Pontus Jansson’s equalising header at the death the fans would have been left fuming.

Jansson was having a barn-stormer of a game before his goal and when he powered home an equaliser with just minutes remaining he really did have the Leeds fans singing his name. The Swedish defender has been one of the top performers for The Whites over the past few seasons and he stepped up yet again yesterday to ensure that Marcelo Bielsa’s side would be watching the weekend’s action without having suffered a loss.
With no early Premier League kick-off, all eyes were on Leeds and Bielsa as they aimed to get a win to keep top spot in the Championship. Unfortunately, Sheffield United and West Bromwich Albion’s wins later in the day mean that Bielsa’s side have dropped to third but with the majority of the season still ahead there’s plenty of time for Jansson and co to regain that 1st place and go up as champions this season.

The Leeds fans will be expecting Jansson to keep up his levels of performance after the international break and will be hoping his form can help see them get back to the top of the Championship.
