Sometimes, when things are against you in football all it takes is a little bit of magic to spark something, and Jack Clarke provided that for Leeds United yesterday. The youngster came off the bench at half-time and took just 11 minutes to score a stunning goal, starting the unlikeliest of comebacks in Birmingham.

The Whites already knew just what Clarke was capable of and they’ll have been desperate for him to show the rest of the Championship sooner or later. What they didn’t expect, however, was for him to showcase his talents off the bench away at Villa Park in what could prove to be such an important result when it comes to the end of the season and promotion is looming.
The right-footed youngster picked the ball up wide and deep on the left and proceeded to drive at the heart of the Villains defence. With defenders stepping off of him left, right and centre, it was clear that the 18-year-old had one thing in mind as he bent a beauty into the Villa net to spark pandemonium in the away end, and from there we all know how it went.
