Leeds United seem to have a long-term plan under Marcelo Bielsa at the moment. The Argentine gaffer has come in and won over plenty of Leeds fans, but according to this article from The Yorkshire Evening Post, it seems Bielsa is preparing Leeds U23 manager, Carlos Corberan to eventually take the reigns off of him when he departs.

Marcelo Bielsa has already seen the likes of Jack Clarke and Jamie Shackleton make the step up from the club’s academy to the senior squad this season and it seems that the 63-year-old is keen to blood the youth and prepare the club for the future in his time at Elland Road. That preparing for the future doesn’t stop at players, though, as the way Corberan’s U23s are playing is mirroring the senior squad and the Spaniard could be set to take over one day.
In the same way that Zinedine Zidane became Real Madrid manager and Pep Guardiola became the Barcelona boss, Bielsa is already putting the steps in place for Corberan to one day step up from the Whites reserves and step into senior management and the fans love the idea of it. Corberan’s Leeds U23 side are top of the Professional Development League and if he can continue impressing in his role then the fans might be calling for him to step up sooner than was first thought, although, for now, the fans are just pleased to see a long-term plan in place.

The fans love the idea of Corberan being the natural heir to Bielsa and will be keen to see how both the U23s and the first-team get on in the coming seasons.
