Leeds United are thought to be keeping an eye on one of Europe’s top leagues this winter as they look for possible transfer targets.
It is understood that it is the first time in months that the Championship side have had officials in the country on watching missions, however, they oversaw three games last week.
It is believed that they watched Porto on two occasions whilst they also saw Benfica in action, although it is not known who they were keeping an eye on.
Marcelo Bielsa will likely want to add a couple of players to his side this winter, as he has been dealt a number of injury blows, although the majority of them will return to action in January.
The Argentine will not have been happy at the weekend as he witnessed his side crumble to West Bromwich Albion in a 4-1 defeat at The Hawthorns on Saturday night.
The Verdict:
The news that Leeds are taking an interest in players from Portugal could be an extremely encouraging update for fans ahead of the January transfer window.
There are a number of exciting players within the Primeira Liga and a number of those men have already move to England in the past to turn out for some of the Championship’s current teams.
However, it remains to be seen if Bielsa has one man in particular on his radar, or if he is just taking an interest to see if he can unearth a gem of a player to bring to Elland Road.
