Leeds: Phil Hay shares intriguing detail regarding Arsenal clash

The Athletic journalist Phil Hay has revealed an interesting detail regarding Leeds United’s game against Arsenal on February 14th.

Hay reveals

On Tuesday night, the Gunners lost 2-1 to Wolves and both defender David Luiz and goalkeeper Bernd Leno were given straight red cards.

In some cases, instant dismissals are greeted with three-match bans but that is not the case with the Arsenal duo as they are due to host Marcelo Bielsa’s side in just over a week’s time.

Hay responded to a fan on Twitter and said that both Luiz and Leno will only serve one game on the sidelines, meaning that they will return to face Leeds at the Emirates.

The North Yorkshire outfit are just two points behind Arsenal in the Premier League table in 11th place, with two games in hand on the three-time Premier League winners.

Transfer Tavern Verdict

February 14th is teeing up to be a huge game in Bielsa’s season and may shed light as to where Leeds may finish this campaign.

They have a difficult game Everton to negotiate on Wednesday before they can focus on their trip to North London.

With two victories and two defeats from their last four games, now would be a good time for Leeds to develop some consistency, but they will have to face an Arsenal team with Leno and Luiz available to play in 11 days’ time.

In other news, Leeds talent has been praised for his “warrior” characteristics.
