Leeds team news: Bielsa faces huge headache ahead of Bristol City clash

Leeds United will want to return to winning ways when they host Bristol City at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon.

The Whites were thumped 4-1 by West Bromwich Albion in their last Championship match prior to the international break and Marcelo Bielsa will have been raring to get things corrected as quickly as possible.

However, it appears as though he could have a number of key men unavailable for the clash against the Robins.

According to the club’s official website, both Bailey Peacock-Farrell and Pontus Jansson are doubtful as the duo add to the lengthy injury list Bielsa already has.

The Northern Ireland international goalkeeper joins Jamal Blackman on the sidelines with a knee injury, leaving the club without a recognised senior shot-stopper.

Jansson is doubtful with a foot injury and has not trained with the squad ahead of the fixture with Bristol City.

The Verdict:

The duo’s potential absence will be a huge blow to Bielsa and Leeds on Saturday as they look to get back to winning ways.

Will Huffer or Kamil Miazek will likely deputise for Peacock-Farrell in what would be their first senior start, which could leave some doubts about how they will perform on the day.

Jansson becomes another defender that is unavailable for Bielsa, as he already has Luke Ayling and Gaetano Berardi on the sidelines, and may need to turn to either Leif Davis or Aapo Halme to figure in the backline.
