The Leeds fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to comments made by their club’s central defender, Pontus Jansson about the atmosphere inside Elland Road. Whilst speaking to the Leeds United website, the Swede spoke of his relationship with the fans and mentioned how fantastic they are when they get behind the team at Elland Road, prompting a number of replies from our local Whites.
Leeds fans have been made to suffer this year, as a promising campaign has been utterly derailed since the turn of the year. The Yorkshire club had ambitions of a playoff place as the fans continue to fantasize over a return to England’s top flight. However, after a brilliant 2017 that saw the club occupy the Championship’s top spot for two weeks in September, Pontus Jansson and co now find themselves sitting in 14th having won only a single game in 2018 as we approach April.
The club will be looking into their collapse over the last few months as they aim to avoid making the same mistakes next year. Leeds fans believe that they’re meant to be playing top flight football but they’ve stalled over the last ten years, developing a reputation for hiring and sacking managers season upon season as they continue to suffer in England’s second tier.
