During his 45-minute caemo appearance in the second half of Leeds United’s 1-0 win at home to Reading, Jack Clarke impressed from afar. The 18-year-old was direct in his play, as whenever he recieved the ball he would drive at the Reading backline, creating numerous chances when the ball was played across the face of goal for his teammates. However, it was notable that as the game begin to enter the latter stages, Clarke was exhausted from his hard-work in both an attacking and defensive sense. Marcelo Bielsa made reference to that in his answer regarding when the right time to start Clarke was, as the Englishman has only made four subsitute appearances as of yet. There will be much more to come from Clarke, as when given oppourtunities, which have amounted to 104 minutes so far this season, he has caused problems for opposing defenders and sparked the game into life, which he will conitnue to do so when he plays more and more. Bielsa’s comments have got Leeds’ fans talking.

Glad you mentioned Clarke; I thought he was sensational, and he has great bursts of speed to get past defenders on the wing and centre the ball. A very promising prospect; as good as anyone we've produced possibly since Howson, or maybe Delph and Lennon. We need to nurture him.
