Leeds: Aston Villa lead the race to sign Kalvin Phillips -Leeds United News

Aston Villa are the current front-runners to sign Leeds United star Kalvin Phillips at the end of the season, according to a fresh transfer report.

The Lowdown: Phillips’ future up in the air

The 26-year-old is arguably one of the most important players at Elland Road, with his lengthy absence through injury this season hurting the Whites badly.

With relegation still far from out of the question, there is constant speculation surrounding Phillips’ Leeds future, with the England international surely leaving if his boyhood club are in the Championship next term.

The hope is that Phillips remains with the Whites, of course – he has been hailed as ‘phenomenal’ by former England manager Fabio Capello – but there is surely only a chance of him staying if relegation is avoided.
