There continues to be unanswered questions around the future of Leeds star Ezgjan Alioski, and Phil Hay has shed some light on whether his contract will be extended before it expires this summer.
The latest on Alioski
The report from Hay is very positive as it emphasises the Whites want to keep the North Macedonia international but are just waiting for that desire to be reciprocated, while they are also planning for the future by eyeing up new left-backs who could either take Alioski’s place or compete with him for the shirt.
Alioski needs to be tied down to a new deal
The 28 year-old has played 153 times for the club (Transfermarkt) and was key in the side getting promoted to England’s top flight with five goals and five assists last campaign. He has also featured 18 times in the Premier League this season and this highlights that he is still integral in Bielsa’s squad.
Hay makes it sound quite likely that the contract will get extended, and considering Alioski is still a starting player and has progressed so much with Leeds, it would make little sense for him to want to leave.
