Leeds United have picked up four points against Everton and Arsenal in their last two games, which should give them great confidence that they can get something against Chelsea on Saturday. However, there is a fresh injury concern ahead of the game.
Koch problem revealed
A source has told Football Insider: “I know Robin Koch has not trained for a couple of days so he (Bielsa) might be forced into a change.” He has an undisclosed problem this week which has put his availability for Saturday’s visit to Stamford Bridge in doubt.
This is a big blow for Leeds
The German defender has been key in the back line for Leeds this campaign. He has featured in all ten Premier League matches and has been great at stopping opposition attacks. Koch has managed 1.8 tackles, 2.2 interceptions and 2.2 clearances per game (WhoScored).
Therefore, this news will be quite a worry for the manager, especially against tough opposition like Chelsea, who scored four behind the brilliance of Olivier Giroud in midweek.
Perhaps he has missed training just as a precaution, but if there is doubt, it would be better to rest him for the upcoming match so that he is fully fit for the hectic winter period.
