Leeds: Whites want two more signings alongside Maximilian Wober - Leeds United News

Leeds United are reportedly on the search for a new left-back and forward alongside a move for RB Salzburg defender Maximilian Wober.

The Lowdown: Wober links

The Whites appear to have identified Wober as their first major winter window target, with talks thought to be underway between the two clubs.

The 24-year-old has worked under Jesse Marsch previously and is primarily a centre-back who can operate at left-back when needed, something which has happened regularly this season.

Wober is valued at a career-high €12m by Transfermarkt, and it looks as if he may not be the only possible arrival at Elland Road next month.

The Latest: Transfer update

MOT Leeds News relayed an update from Thursday’s print edition of The Daily Mirror regarding Leeds and Wober.

They shared the interest and said that the defender is available for £14m, adding that the Whites ‘are also on the hunt for a new left-back and striker in January’.

The Verdict: Busy…

This update will come as welcome news for some Leeds supporters, who may have been wondering if Wober was viewed as the answer at left-back by Elland Road officials, despite that not being his main position.

That doesn’t appear to be the case, though, and a new left-back and forward alongside Wober could represent a solid transfer window ahead of the second half of the season.

Marsch’s side are currently flirting with the relegation zone once again and need reinforcements in those areas due to fitness and form issues with Junior Firpo and Patrick Bamford, and the right additions over the coming weeks could help them avoid another battle to avoid the drop.
