Leeds United want to potentially bring in both Jesse Marsch and Brenden Aaronson this summer, according to journalist Dean Jones.

The Lowdown: Leeds linked with Marsch and Aaronson

The Whites could face a huge turning point at the end of the season, should Marcelo Bielsa decide to move on as manager. He is yet to sign a new deal, with his current contract expiring in June.

In recent days, Marsch has reportedly emerged as the front-runner to replace the legendary Argentine, having been without a club since being sacked by RB Leipzig in December.

Meanwhile, Aaronson was endlessly linked with a move to Elland Road in the January transfer window, and while he stayed put at RB Salzburg, he looks set to be a summer target for the Whites.

The Latest: Journalist big both deals

Speaking to Give Me Sport, Jones confirmed that Leeds want both figures to come in during the summer, should Bielsa's spell as manager come to an end:

"It’s not a coincidence that Leeds were heavily linked with Brenden Aaronson and are now being heavily linked with Jesse Marsch.

"There is huge admiration for the Red Bull model and their focus has been on success stories coming out of Salzburg in recent years.

"Leeds want both Aaronson and Marsch and believe the pair would love to work together in an English team."

The Verdict: Makes perfect sense

Even if Bielsa stays on as manager, Aaronson looks a perfect midfield signing to come in and add quality and end product, having scored 11 goals and registered 14 assists in 54 appearances for Salzburg.

The fact that he and Marsch worked together at Salzburg is an added bonus and would then make the American natural successor to Bielsa, in order to be alongside the midfielder once again.

It is vital that Leeds' next manager is someone with a similar outlook to Bielsa, in order for the players to continue thriving in this system and not tearing up the current style and starting all over again.
