The resident Gunners in the Transfer Tavern are hoping their side will progress to the semi-finals of the EFL cup this evening.

Arsenal and West Ham will once again lock horns this evening for the second time in the space of a week. The London rivals held each other to a stalemate at the London Stadium last Wednesday, but their fixture this evening promises to be a much more open encounter with a place in the semi-finals of the competition up for grabs. David Moyes’ side will fancy their chances of beating Arsenal at The Emirates this evening after taking 7 points from their last 3 matches.

Ahead of their clash with West Ham, Arsenal’s Twitter page posted a picture of Jack Wilshere going through his paces on the training ground.

In the absence of Aaron Ramsey, Wilshere recently made a long-awaited return to Premier League football in Arsenal red and his performances have impressed the supporters who still have plenty of admiration for his talent.

Although the futures of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil have been the subject of rife discussion amongst the Arsenal fans of late, it now appears that doubts over Wilshere’s contact extension are becoming another major cause for concern at the club.

Judging by the response on Twitter, The Gunners are desperate to see Wilshere remain at the club and sign a new contract along with Mesut Ozil very shortly.
