Liverpool midfielder Fabinho was missing from the first team’s training session on Thursday ahead of their crunch Premier League clash against Tottenham.

The 27-year-old has stood in as a makeshift centre-back this season on the back of the club’s catastrophic injury crisis in that department.
First-choice pairing Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez picked up serious knee injuries towards the beginning of the campaign, while Joel Matip continues to struggle with fitness issues.

Goal journalist Jack Sear noticed that Fabinho, who earns £100k-per-week at Anfield, was not involved in images which emerged from Thursday’s session at The Breyer Group Stadium – the home of League Two side Leyton Orient.
If he were to miss the game, the only other options that Liverpool have are youngsters Rhys Williams, Nathaniel Phillips and even midfielder Jordan Henderson has deputised in that position.

Transfer Tavern Verdict
This will only add to Jurgen Klopp’s headache and frustrate the Kop faithful even further, especially after the reports that the club allegedly will not bring in any fresh faces this month.
Liverpool are in danger of making the same mistake as Manchester City did last year. Ayermic Laporte suffered a serious injury and Vincent Kompany left before the season started, leaving just Fernandinho to fill in at the back when injuries struck.
If the Reds are going to go the rest of the season playing youngsters in the first-team, there will be immense pressure on them to perform.
