Many Liverpool fans fully appreciate the gesture that European club Lyon made in memory of former Reds manager Gerard Houllier.
The Frenchman, who managed Liverpool from 1998 to 2004, guiding the club to a memorable treble during the 2000/2001 campaign, passed away back in December after a lengthy battle with illness.

To commemorate his passing, Lyon, one of the clubs he also used to manage, have decided to rename their training ground in his memory.
Cited by DaveOCKOP on Twitter, The Ligue 1 club’s president Jean-Michel Aulas said that there will be a dedicated memorial for him and that a match against Liverpool will be organised.

Unsurprisingly, this attracted a hugely positive response from the Kop faithful, who showed their respect towards Lyon’s idea to commemorate the Frenchman.
