Liverpool: Fans are divided as transfer fee for Jamal Lewis emerges

Liverpool have registered their interest in signing Norwich City’s Jamal Lewis as a back-up to Andy Robertson.

The Reds are looking to bolster their Premier League-winning squad ahead of next season where they will attempt to retain their crown. With no current recognised senior left-back to aid Robertson, Jurgen Klopp and Co are on the hunt for a deputy.

As reported by Melissa Reddy, Liverpool are looking to sign Lewis from recently relegated Norwich. However, a new report from the Daily Telegraph’s Matt Law (relayed via @LFCTransferRoom), claims that the Canaries are under no pressure to sell.

The Reds must offer a minimum of £20million in order for Norwich to consider cashing in on the 22-year-old.

Kopites have naturally taken to the comments section to discuss the situation and it seems the fanbase is torn over what to do. One fan feels the asking price is too high for a back-up option after simply tweeting ‘yikes’.

Another supporter is more positive and has said ‘that will change’ as they expect Lewis to hand in a transfer request before the new season.
