Liverpool: Fans drool as Reds edge closer to capturing Timo Werner

Loads of Liverpool fans have been reacting to the news that Timo Werner has moved one step closer to moving to Anfield, with the decision resting in the hands of Jurgen Klopp, according to Sky Sports.

The Germany international has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League, particularly to Merseyside, after Werner himself described the Reds as the best club in the world, as per Viasport. With 21 goals in 23 Bundesliga appearances during the current campaign, only Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski has scored more in Germany’s domestic league.

Sky Sports revealed that Werner’s future now lies in the hands of the former Borussia Dortmund boss and whether he feels that the German’s £50m release clause is worth paying. Indeed, another factor is that he will have to convince the Leipzig goalscorer that he would play regularly for the Merseyside club, given the importance of Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino to the club’s cause at the moment. One fan said that he is exactly what the club needs right now in the first team squad, while another cannot wait to see him in a Liverpool shirt.
