Liverpool: Fans mixed on links with Boubakary Soumare

Some Liverpool fans have responded to reports in France that they have joined the race to sign Boubakary Soumare.

According to Le10Sport, the 20-year-old has attracted the interest of the Reds, who have entered the battle along with the likes of Chelsea and Tottenham (cited by Sport Witness) to sign the Frenchman. There was no indication in the report whether the Merseysiders would look to make their move in January or in the summer.

Reds fans will have seen Soumare in action against Chelsea in the Champions League during his side’s 2-1 defeat at Stamford Bridge last month, where he played the full 90 minutes and put in an impressive display. He won 10 of his duels, made five successful dribbles and made 11 ball recoveries, as per Fotmob.

Despite this, supporters could not agree on whether or not they should go in for the France U21 international, with one fan saying that they already have enough midfielders at the club. Another mentioned Divock Origi’s transfer, suggesting Soumare should be signed now and loaned back to the Ligue 1 outfit until the end of the season.
