When you think of John Arne Riise’s Liverpool days, you’re not thinking of the defensive work he used to put it at Anfield, but the thunderbolt of a left-foot he had, and that goal at Old Trafford always jumps to mind. However, the ex-Reds man has claimed that Andy Robertson needs to add more goals to his game, despite being a ‘manager’s dream’.
Not sure about this… https://t.co/QyUJz2Kipc

Whilst it certainly is a strange claim from Riise, it’s hard not to agree with the former Liverpool man. Andy Robertson is probably the best left-back in the world today and he has a huge impact on the way Liverpool both go forward in attack and come back in defence, but he doesn’t score goals. His crosses and assist tallies are impressive, but so far he has just one goal in 51 games since joining the club.
The next step for Robertson, according to Riise is start finding the net when he makes his marauding runs up the pitch, even if that is easier said than done. At the moment, whenever the Scottish full-back bombs forward it’s clear that he’s desperate to get to the byline and whip in a ball, however, if he could add some goalscoring threat and unpredictability to his game going forward, then he’ll become a whole new threat when teams travel to face Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Nothing wrong with the statement at all

He's not wrong tbf. The occasional shot at goal when it's on can't be a bad thing. Gives defenders and keepers one more thing to worry about. It's hardly a criticism of the lad tho. Best left back in the league atm.

Well it is about the only thing Robertson doesn't do on the pitch.

Easy for Ginge to say when he had a hidden rocket in his left boot!

The Kopites can’t help but agree that they’d like to see some more goals from Robertson, but that doesn’t mean they don’t love his already impressive performances for the club.
