When Jurgen Klopp dipped into the transfer market over the summer to sign yet another player from a relegated club in Xherdan Shaqiri, the fans were desperate for the Swiss midfielder to turn out the same way that Andy Robertson and Georginio Wijnaldum have. For the most part, he’s looked good, but recently Klopp has been reluctant to use his #23.

The 27-year-old former Stoke City, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan man is a quality addition to Klopp’s squad. However, at the age of 27 it’s unlikely he has much developing left to do as a player. Regardless of how much better he may or may not get, the Reds can’t work out why, as of late, Jurgen Klopp seems to be continually snubbing the versatile winger, even in games like yesterday where they needed some magic.
Across the Premier League season so far, Shaqiri has managed to play a full 90-minute match just four times, and in those four outings, he’s contributed to three goals, with two strikes himself and an assist laid on for Mo Salah. The impact that the 27-year-old has is clear to see yet in the Reds last four games Klopp has left Shaqiri on the bench as an unused substitute. Whatever issues there may between the two, the fans want dealt with quickly as they’re keen to see Shaq back in their attack.
