Liverpool fans on Twitter can’t wait for Chamberlain return

When he first signed for the club, a lot of fans slated Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. The dynamic midfielder made a name for himself as a winger at Arsenal and also featured as a wing-back under Arsene Wenger, however, Jurgen Klopp’s decision to convert him to a central-midfielder has turned out to be a superb one.

It wasn’t until a few months into the former Arsenal man’s Liverpool career that he started to show the fans what he was all about and then when he started in the club’s Champions League win over Manchester City it really hit home just how important he is to the club. The midfielder has had one of his goals against Manchester City last season shortlisted for a goal of the year award, and the fans have been calling for him to return.

Klopp will have been over the moon when his side overcame City and a lot of that was down to the battling performance of Chamberlain, which will have made his injury in the next round of the tournament against Roma and an even tougher blow to take. The 25-year-old is still recovering from that injury blow and when he does return he’ll be a huge boost to the Kopites squad when he is back at Anfield in action for the club.

Would prefer him back in the squad to be honest, great strike/goal, but having an attacking midfielder would be ideal right about now….
