Liverpool and AC Milan will both be preparing their veterans for the upcoming ‘legends’ game that will be taking place on Saturday 23rd March. The Reds have assembled a selection of former greats to face Milan Glorie next month, and when they posted a video of the ex-pros training, they were disgusted to see Michael Owen.

It’s no secret that Michael Owen isn’t very well liked amongst Liverpool fans, despite his rich history with the club. The BT Sports pundit rose to stardom whilst turning out at Anfield, with his famous goal against Argentina for England, his treble with Liverpool and his Ballon d’Or win in 2001 all coming whilst he was a player at Anfield, however, things soured for the striker.
After leaving Anfield for the Bernabeu, Owen’s career started to take a real hit. Injuries crippled the once sublime striker and his career faded out. However, he still had enough left in him to sign for Newcastle and then Manchester United, a move that would ultimately cut him apart from all Liverpool legends, as they just cannot continue to worship a player who turned out at Old Trafford.

The Reds hate the idea of Owen featuring in a Liverpool legends side and will hope he takes the hint and drops out of the squad to face Milan Glorie.
