Liverpool fans on Twitter keen to avoid Immobile swoop

Liverpool fans have been treated to one of the best seasons they’ve had in recent memory so far this campaign, and it could be set to get better with a new signing or two. However, the Anfield Press have claimed that Jurgen Klopp has sent a scout to watch Ciro Immobile for Lazio against Napoli, and the fans are far from buzzing.

Ciro Immobile has formerly played under Jurgen Klopp, having signed under German in summer 2014 when he left Torino for Borussia Dortmund, however, after his first full season at the club ended in disappointment as he netted just ten times in all competition, with only three of those coming in the Bundesliga, despite the fact he made 24 appearances in the German domestic league.

After that ill-fated spell with Dortmund, the striker spent six months on-loan to Sevilla before signing for the Spanish club permanently. Things have never been great for the Italian outside of his native country, and whilst his current form at Lazio is enough to make you stand up and notice him, it would be worth remembering that things haven’t always been rosy for the 28-year-old goal-getter.
