Liverpool have added another promising young talent to their roster with the signing of Melkamu Frauendorf.
As reported by the Liverpool ECHO (relayed via @LFCTransferRoom), the 16-year-old German youth international has signed for the Reds on a scholarship deal. He will link up with Liverpool’s U18s after making the move from Bundesliga side Hoffenheim.

It seems that Jurgen Klopp is looking to focus on his youngsters by integrating more of them into the first team. Frauendorf could be on the list to follow in the footsteps of recent graduates Neco Williams and Curtis Jones.
The champions of England have made just one senior signing this window, welcoming left-back Kostas Tsimikas to the club earlier this month (via BBC Sport).
Loads of Reds fans are pleased with the newest addition to the team and are looking forward to watching him grow at Anfield. One supporter has predicted Frauendorf to become ‘the next Kai Havertz’ after talks between the German star and Liverpool fizzled out.

Frauendorf, who like his compatriot Havertz is an attacking midfielder, contributed five goals and five assists in 20 appearances for Hoffenheim’s U17 side last season (via Transfermarkt).
