Liverpool: Fans react as Billy Hogan becomes club’s new CEO

Peter Moore has relinquished his role as CEO of Liverpool Football Club, with Billy Hogan stepping in after being tipped for the job for a while.

James Pearce has reported on the shift in personnel near the top of the club hierarchy, as the Reds enter a new era with Hogan being promoted from his previous role as managing director.

Moore leaves Liverpool after three years on the job and tweeted his own emotional farewell to the club. The 65-year-old has assured fans that the Merseyside outfit will be in ‘great hands under the stewardship of Billy Hogan’ in a recent post.

Loads of Liverpool supporters have responded to Pearce’s feature with Simon Hughes, but not all of the replies are are positive. Whilst one fan has urged people to ‘keep the faith’, plenty of others have slammed Fenway Sports Group (FSG) for their quiet transfer window so far.

One fan has tweeted that FSG ‘need to go’ if they can’t facilitate a move for the likes of heavily-linked target Thiago Alcantara. The Spaniard will reportedly cost the club £26.6m but an official move is yet to be made by the Reds.

Maybe LFC have been holding off on announcements until after Hogan took over, to give him some early credit in the bank.
