Lots of Liverpool fans have been reacting to a comment from James Pearce during a Q&A for The Athletic, as he revealed he expects the Reds to make an official approach for Timo Werner in the coming weeks.
Werner has been flirting with a switch to Anfield in recent weeks, saying they are the best team in the world and even admitting it is a ‘pleasure’ to be linked with the club. A report from The Athletic earlier this week claimed the Germany international is waiting on Liverpool to make their move, and Pearce appears to have confirmed they will do just that.
Asked about Werner for The Athletic, Pearce said: “Discussions are yet to open but I expect Liverpool to make an approach for Timo Werner in the coming weeks.”
