Loris Karius has claimed that the reasoning behind his poor performances this season is down to not being able to see because of the blinding floodlights in Turkish stadiums.
The original report features Karius justifying his subpar displays between the sticks for Besiktas. Professionals are wondering whether this could be linked to the concussion he suffered during the 2018 Champions League final in Kyiv (via Fotospor).
The German goalkeeper is perhaps most famously known for all the wrong reasons – his double blunder which single-handedly cost Liverpool the UCL title. Not long after the loss to Real Madrid, the club announced ‘keeper signing Alisson and shipped Karius out on loan.

If the medical link checks out then Karius has been struggling with concussion issues for almost two years. However, many fans aren’t buying the excuse and are lashing out at the 26-year-old.
Several fans are telling him to ‘stick to being a model’ following his ‘flawed’ defence, while another has urged the club to ‘never ever let him come back’.

Was he really that good before that game against Real Madrid it was he just viewed as the best of a bad two keepers we had at the time? His argument is flawed if he was prone to discretions before that game.
