Loads of Liverpool fans have been reacting to the latest report that striker Timo Werner may not be as expensive as first expected little over a week after the striker praised the Reds amid transfer links.
According to Sport1 (via the Mirror), it is claimed that the Germany international’s release clause is worth just £25m (€30m) as opposed to the previously quoted price of between £50m to £55m, as long as it is triggered by the end of April.
Werner, 23, has caught the eyes of numerous clubs, including Bayern Munich and Liverpool, and has been in scintillating form this season, with 27 goals in 33 appearances in all competitions, as per TransferMarkt. With the news of the cheaper price tag, supporters urged the Reds to get business done and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan said that the deal was a “no-brainer”, while another said that he must be signed as early as today.

Get this business done. What is Michael Edwards doing to differentiate our recruitment so dramatically? You get the impression that every other big signing that goes to another club, he’s has ruled them out or there’s a weakness that only he knows about. Top analyst #LFC #redmen
