Liverpool fans take to Twitter to laud Alexander-Arnold after leaving England

The argument will continue to rage on over what matters more to a footballer, club or country? It’s a question that will never go away and one that differs from player to player, and in Trent Alexander-Arnold’s case, it seems being a Scouser means more than being a Three Lion, as he’s withdrawn from the England squad with a suspect back injury.

The story from in the Liverpool Echo claims that the young defender wanted to give himself every chance to play for his country, yet had to pull out of the squad anyway despite having been featuring for his club with this back problem. The Anfield academy man has supposedly been playing through injury since March 10th, when he picked up the knock against Burnley, and he’s only now taking time out to treat it.

Liverpool fans far and wide will be delighted at their star’s timing, missing the two England fixtures against the Czech Republic and Montenegro is a far better shout as far as they’re concerned than having to sit out when the Tottenham make the trip to Anfield. At the moment, it’s supposedly touch and go whether the 20-year-old will be fit for Tottenham, but the Reds have full faith that he’ll make the game, and have a feeling that he’s taking the next week off despite being fit enough to play for his country.

The Kopites have little concern over their right-back’s fitness and all believe that he’ll be back in action on March 31st when Spurs come to town.
